With an objective to create awareness about the environment and making Delhi as a 'Clean and Green City', Delhi Tourism in association with Government of Delhi has been organizing 'Garden Tourism Festival' in Delhi for past three decades. The festival celebrates the spring season with great fervor apart from showcasing a variety of flora and fauna to garden enthusiasts.
The three-day extravaganza is themed ‘Grow Garden: Save Delhi’ this year. The theme entirely focuses upon participants displaying their creativity and awareness with respect to gardening. It also narrates the important role gardening plays in our life with various health and environmental benefits.
The 31st Garden Tourism Festival will be inaugurated on 16th February, 2018 by Sh. Manish Sisodia, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Govt. of Delhi on 16th February, 2018 at 4:00 pm.
The festival is the biggest flower show in the capital and participants include leading nurseries, horticulture & floriculture societies and suppliers of the horticulture equipments, seeds, fertilizers etc. Along with the flower show, special themed gardens are developed by various government civic agencies as well as private organizations and business houses. A large variety of seasonal and exclusive flowers would be displayed and competitions will be held in various categories. Evenings will witness special cultural programmes to entertain the visitors and also create a festive atmosphere. There will be variety of food stalls and several amusement facilities for children as well.
The venue, Garden of Five Senses spread over 22 acres of land is dotted with colorful flowers which shall add to the charm of the event.
Like all previous years this time the festival shall continue to be a way of re-introducing the benefits of a healthy garden to visitors along with some exciting activities.
Timings: 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
FREE shuttle service from SAKET METRO STATION to the venue and back.
